Process

Admissions

1. Initial introduction

a. Book a meeting time with the Chair of Admissions and/or
b. Attend an Info Session or Creative Research Crash Course

2. Expression of Interest form

a. Name and contact info only
b. Personal statement
c. Proposal draft

The Admissions Chair will assess whether the proposed project fits within the Institute's research expertise. The Director will determine if a suitable advisory team can be developed to support the Applicant.

3. MeetingS

If the above criteria are met, the Applicant will meet with staff and advisors.
a. Book a meeting with the Director to connect with advisors.
b. Confirm advisory panel agreement terms by invitation of the Director.
b. Hold up to three meetings with a confirmed advisory to refine the proposal, if needed.

The initial research project idea is further developed with faculty and future advisory teams. A bibliography contextualizing the research proposal is agreed upon, and the research question/s are further refined in terms of aims and objectives. A relevant methodological approach needs to be identified and associated ethical and resource implications stated. At the culmination of admissions, the advisory team (student, lead and co-advisor panel) envision the project's potential; the proposal demonstrates the student has the essential components to realize it, and the team agrees on their roles and schedule to move forward.

4: Letter of acceptance, denial or invitation to submit next admissions period.

a. Invitation to register (accepted)
b. Re-submit the proposal (by invitation)
c. Application rejected, and specific feedback will be provided explaining the reasons for this outcome by the Chair of Admissions.

5. Registration form

Your registration form will include:

1. Accepted proposal (PDF)
2. Curriculum Vitae
3. URL for a representative website + direct link to a research journal blog
4. English language certificates (post-interview, if requested)
5. Advisory Team Agreement
6. Certificates/transcripts confirming qualifications
7. Photo and info for student ID card
8. Identification (passport) + national ID number
9. Profile form
10. URL for Research Journal
11. Data consent form
12. Equal Opportunity, Braver Spaces and Accessibility, Inclusion & Diversity forms
13. Emergency contact info
